Most restaurant websites look great. That's exactly the problem — the barriers that keep guests out are usually design choices someone was proud of.

What's new

The barrier guide walks through 33 common website barriers in plain language, grouped into six themes: motion and media, reading, getting around, buttons and links, forms, and the fake fix. Each entry follows the same shape:

  • The choice you're proud of — the autoplay video, the elegant gray type, the photo of the menu.
  • What it actually is — what that choice does to a guest using a screen reader, a keyboard, or low vision.
  • Who it shuts out — named plainly, because "it hurts accessibility" is too easy to shrug off.

Why we wrote it

"But my website looks cool" is the most common thing we hear. This guide is the honest answer — one barrier at a time, no jargon, no scare tactics. Every accessibility report we send now links to it, so when your scan says "text contrast too low," you can read exactly what that means and who it affects.
