We removed the "Go Live" button — on purpose.
What changed
Until now, finishing the setup wizard ended with a self-serve Go Live button: one click and your site was public. As of today, going live is something we do with you. When your site is ready, a real person at Remi looks it over — menu, hours, photos, accessibility — confirms your setup with you, and flips the switch.
Why
We walked every signup path end to end and found the button let a site go public before it was actually ready: default opening hours that were never edited, a menu with one item, online ordering half-connected. A site that's wrong is worse than a site that's a day away — wrong hours send a guest to a locked door.
There's an accessibility angle too, and it's the same fix: the review catches empty alt text, unlabeled controls, and contrast problems before any guest meets them, not after. Built to WCAG 2.2 AA and checked by a person, then monitored nightly — in that order.
What you'll see
- The setup wizard now ends at "You're set up — we take it from here." Everything you build is saved and previewable at your site's address — visible to you, not public.
- Your dashboard's Settings tab shows exactly where you stand: In preview or Live.
- Keep editing the whole time. Nothing shows until the switch flips; after that, edits publish instantly.
Connecting Square is unchanged: it syncs your menu and turns on ordering — it never publishes your site by itself.
